Contractor Services for Howe Street Canada Place Sidewalk Upgrades

City of Vancouver, BC

Project Info

Pacific Casa Construction completed a full sidewalk resurfacing of 10,000 square feet on the east side of the 200 block of Howe Street for the City of Vancouver in the Spring of 2024. The project included removal of existing tile, exposed aggregate, and non-structural overlay; and the installation of a new unreinforced cast-in-place concrete overlay with sandblasting finishing design.
The site was located in a busy downtown area with significant city traffic, including pedestrian and vehicle flow from the Port of Vancouver, cruise ship passengers, Translink Skytrain station commuters, an office tower, and nearby restaurants, convention centre and hotels. To accommodate the high foot traffic and logistical challenges, the project was carefully phased, ensuring public safety and maintaining access to businesses while keeping the work on schedule. Close coordination and communication with city officials, property owners, and stakeholders was essential in minimizing disruptions and ensuring smooth execution.
The final result is a modern, durable, and visually cohesive sidewalk that seamlessly integrates with the urban environment, improving the pedestrian experience in one of Vancouver’s busiest areas. The successful completion of Howe Street Sidewalk Upgrades project highlights Pacific Casa Construction’s expertise in urban infrastructure improvements.
